Shawano, WI — Writer and educator Rosie Rey will host an Adult Summer Writing Workshop at the Shawano City-County Library beginning in June.
The workshop offers a welcoming space for adults who would like dedicated time to write, develop ideas, and connect with other writers. The workshop will meet Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. from June 3 through July 29, with no session on July 1.
Participants may bring any type of writing project, including memoir, poetry, fiction, journaling, or personal essays. Each session will include writing coaching, writing games, and peer review of works in progress in a fun and collaborative environment. Writers of any experience level are welcome.
Rosie Rey is a freelance writer who teaches writing at the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay and through Shawano Community Education. Rey’s workshops focus on helping writers build confidence, explore ideas, and make steady progress on their work in a low-stress setting.
The workshop fee is $54 per student for the eight-week series. Space is limited, and the workshop will run if enough participants register.

Ghostwriting means I do the writing for you—based on your input, purpose, and voice. Coaching means you do the writing, and I support you through it with tools, edits, and guidance.
Absolutely. Some clients want me to write a first draft and then workshop it with them. Others prefer to start writing themselves and bring me in later for polishing. I'm happy to meet with you wherever you are in the process.
Start by reaching out through the contact form. Let me know what you’re working on, what kind of support you’re looking for, and your timeline. I’ll follow up with a quick consultation and next steps.
It depends on the scope and timeline of your project. I offer both flat rates and hourly billing. Once I know more about your needs, I’ll provide a clear quote—no surprises.
Yes. I work with care and respect for emotional writing—whether it’s a tribute, a goodbye, or something you’re not quite ready to say out loud. We’ll go at your pace, and you’ll have full control over the final piece.
Absolutely! Whether we are writing a personal piece or business documents, you retain ownership and control. You can see in my portfolio that even if you give permission for me to use the work, I will change all names and identifying information.
